Build spaces you can step inside.
Ostrid is a spatial design tool: sketch a floor plan in 2D, watch it become a walkable 3D space in real time, and refine rooms, routes, and light before they become finished models.
Quickstart
Ostrid runs entirely in your browser — no install required.
- Sign in at app.ostrid.design with Google.
- From the dashboard, name a file and select Create.
- Pick the Wall tool and click to drop points; close the loop to form a room.
- Watch the 3D preview build the space live on the right.
Ostrid is in early access — you'll need an invite code to sign in. Join the waitlist if you don't have one yet. Files autosave to your account as you work; use ⌘ S any time to force a save.
The interface
The editor is split into three working areas:
- 2D canvas — the precise drawing surface with grid, snapping, and a coordinate readout.
- 3D preview — a live model of your plan with render modes and walk / fly navigation.
- Layers & inspector — manage canvases, groups, and the properties of whatever is selected.
2D tools
Every tool has a single-key shortcut. Colors map to the Ostrid spatial palette.
- Wall W — structural walls with adjustable thickness and height.
- Division L — light interior partitions.
- Zone / Room Z — named areas with live area readouts.
- Ceiling opening C — voids and skylights in the slab above.
- Door D & Window N — openings placed onto walls.
- Dimension M & Annotation A — measurements and notes.
- Objects 1–5 — cube, sphere, cylinder, cone, and column blocks.
Pick a tool and click point to point to draw. Snapping and alignment guides help you keep walls square and connected.
Live 3D preview
The 3D panel mirrors your plan continuously. Switch render modes to read the space differently:
- Wireframe — structure only.
- Solid — flat massing.
- Realistic — lit surfaces.
- Material — assigned material colors.
Use Walk and Fly to move through the model, and expand the panel for a full-screen view.
Inspector & layers
Select anything on the canvas to edit it in the inspector — name, level, dimensions, material, and alignment. The layers panel organises elements into groups and canvases, with visibility and lock toggles on every row.
